As a Visitor, when you wish to register your interest in participating in a clinical trial detailed on our website (“Participant”) we will collect personal information about you in order to provide you with our services, including the following:

  • Connecting you with clinics providing clinical trials (“Clinic”);
  • Sending you material about clinical trials that we believe may be of interest to you;
  • Managing your relationship with a Clinic;
  • Communicating with you about your experiences with us and/or the Clinic;
  • Generating lists, reports and/or analysing your personal information for the purposes of increasing your chances of involvement in future clinical trials and other treatment activities;
  • Assessing your suitability for the clinical trial you expressed an interest in and any other or future trials we believe may be of interest to you, and
    Providing access to the latest health research and treatment news and information, together the (“Participant Services”).

If you are a Participant we will collect your personal information including your sensitive/health information in order to provide you with our Participant Services, including the following (“Participant Information”):

  • your name
  • age;
  • your email address;
  • gender;
  • details about your medical conditions, including the duration of the conditions, the medication you are using and whether the conditions have been diagnosed by a doctor;
  • details relating to your suitability for clinical trials, including allergies you may have; and
  • details of other medical conditions you may be interested in.

We also monitor customer traffic patterns, site usage and mailing list statistics to help us develop the design and layout of the website and mailing list. We may also use the information we collect to occasionally notify you about important changes to the Web site, new services and special offers we think you’ll find valuable. If you would rather not receive this information, please notify us. Make sure to notify us for each account or e-mail address you have left with us.

While ever you remain a Participant we will collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information (including your sensitive information, the Participant Information and the Clinic Information) in accordance with this Privacy Policy order to provide you with the Participant Services.

If you are a Participant who is contacted by a Clinic, we may also collect additional personal and sensitive/health information to better provide you with the Participant Services, including the following (“Clinic Information”):

  • your eligibility for any of the clinical trials conducted by a Clinic; and
  • your participation in a clinical trial conducted by a Clinic.

Where you complete an enquiry on behalf of another person, we will also collect personal information about you, in particular your name, email address and phone number (“Nominee Information”). We collect this information in order for us to contact you in connection with the provision of Participant Services to that other person [and for the purposes of effectively undertaking clinical trials].

How do we collect personal information?

If you contact us via the “Contact Us” facility on website or are a Visitor, we will collect your personal information and the Visitor Information directly from you. If you are a Participant, we will collect your Participant Information and/or your Clinic Information directly from you and from any Clinics for which you enquire about a clinical trial.

Who do we disclose personal information to?

If you are a Visitor or Participant, we may disclose your Participant Information and/or Clinic Information to third parties including the Clinics for the purpose of facilitating the Participant Services and performing one or more of our functions or activities.

Where you complete an enquiry on behalf of another person, we may disclose your Nominee Information to third parties, including the Clinics, for the purpose of facilitating the Participant Services and performing one or more of our functions or activities.

We may also use or disclose any of your personal information described above for other purposes and/or to other persons as required or permitted by law.

We may also disclose your personal information to third parties contracted to Optimal Clinical Trials for one or more of the above purposes.
